Walrus Staff Fund

I am fundraising to financially support the remaining staff at the Walrus who will be facing uncertain conditions with their employment and could be losing out on wages especially around Christmas where we were promised double pay and a £400 Bonus. Following my dismissal for refusing to work when symptomatic with COVID many staff are rightly concerned about their jobs and in the absence of knowledge as to whether the site will remain open, still deserve payment for their service to the pub. I am accepting part responsibility for in exposing the poor managment practices in putting their jobs at risk but ultimately it was the right thing to do and I hope that together we will be able support them through this difficult time.

I will take none of the proceeds of this fundraiser and will be distributing it equally to all affected staff which contact me as the total increases.

I sincerely hope it to be understood that my decision was made in the attempt to call out unethical work practices and the lack of workers rights in hospitality.
