Walter for Mayor of Dorchester!

WALTER for MAYOR OF DORCHESTER! (Really tho.)

For Walter’s 10th Birthday, all he wants is to become the Mayor of Dorchester and walk in the Dorchester Day Parade on June 1st… but to make that wish come true, he needs your help! Every $1 donated counts as a vote, and the most votes wins!! *donations are tax deductible*

Walter has been a staple of the Greater Ashmont community for 7+ years now… putting smiles on strangers faces while on a walk, greeting those coming to/from the Ashmont T stop, keeping watch from our balcony over Dot Ave, distracting commuters sitting in traffic on our runs, and inhaling treats from his go-to local businesses. The people of Dorchester are what he lives for, so it only makes sense that he represent the most awesome neighborhood in the most awesome parade.

That being said, you're probably still wondering what makes becoming Mayor of THE Dorchester Day Parade SO special? Well, the Dorchester Reporter said it best: "The parade brings together all the different ethnic groups that make up Boston’s biggest and best neighborhood. You could spend a year going to all the different ethnic fests across Boston. Or just come to Dot Day and see them all in one two-hour extravaganza. Plus, we were gay friendly before it was a thing. There’s something for everyone in this parade." And THAT statement in itself is what makes our neighborhood, OUR (energetic) community... and it's also what makes Walter the perfect candidate to represent our eclectic past lineup of Dot Mayors who have annually showcased our diverse values and pride.

We really do come together as a community on this day every year because it not only revamps our Dorchester pride and appreciation of our neighbors, but it's also insanely fun! To all of the local businesses and restaurants - we appreciate you!! The vibe is felt along the entire route, from everyone... it's something you need to experience to fully understand, and we welcome any and all of you reading this to join us on June 1, 2025! And hopefully Walter will raise the most money so that you'll also get to see him walking the parade as Mayor of Dorchester!!

All donations are tax deductible and directly support the fees and participant payments (bands, local groups, etc) that make up the backbone of the parade itself... (and from what I've recently learned, it costs at least $60,000 each year to organize and carry out, so every dollar really does count!)

If you see us out and about, please say hi!! And if you’re one of the many drivers sitting in morning rush hour traffic along our running route (Dot Ave > Gallivan > Neponset > Ashmont), give Walter a honk of support!
