Walter Jennings Recovery & Medical Expenses
Donation protected
On Wednesday, November 9, our friend, neighbor, and community member, Walter Jennings, was severely injured at work while responding to a brush fire in the woods of Plainfield. While supporting fire personnel in his capacity as DPW Superintendent, a large tree fell on Walter resulting in multiple injuries, including a crushed left leg requiring pins and rods and broken vertebrae in his back.
Walter is currently hospitalized at Baystate with his wife Amy by his side and is hoping to transition to rehab in the coming days. As Walter continues to navigate this difficult road to recovery, Amy, an educational support professional and athletic director, has had to miss work to provide care and support. This has added financial stress to the uncertainty of his long-term prognosis they are facing.
Amy and Walter have been enthusiastic cheerleaders and fixtures for many years at local athletic and school events. Please consider supporting Amy and Walter during this difficult time. Funds raised will go towards any medical expenses and lost income. Your support is greatly needed and appreciated!
