Walter’s Charlotte Grace
Donation protected
Charlotte was taken back from her original adopted family in Albuquerque, NM because she was not being cared for properly. She was malnourished and losing a ton of hair and the vets she was taken to could not figure out what was wrong. Once the breeder found out and saw pictures of her sweet baby girl she immediately stepped in and drove over 8 hours round trip to get her out of that situation and bring her back to El Paso, TX. She was able to get her weight up, but again no vets here could figure out what was wrong with her skin and that is when I asked if I could foster her to try and get her skin under control. I figured since I had success with my last foster with all her severe skin issues and a lot of extra time to dedicate to Char this would be perfect... and let’s be real, Walt’s emo self could use the company. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m taking the same approach as the last foster we had, Lilo, and putting her on the same food right away to help fix her from the inside. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF A PROPER DIET FOR THESE BABIES. No, Karen... I’m not a vet and I get every pup is different, but I had to do my own research after Walt’s first couple vets were worthless so I rather try and help others not go through the same trial and error with food or other things. I’ll also be giving her purified water, use the same natural balms and give her some holistic charcoal baths until I can take her down to our vet in Austin. She will get tested for everything and get the best treatment possible with The King WG himself right along side her.
With all that said and the amount of messages we have recieved asking how y’all could help or donate to her “getting better fund” I finally made this page... I don’t know how much everything will cost or really what we are getting in to and it can easily exceed this amount, but money will not be an issue trying to figure it out. We will do the same exact thing as last time so any left over funds will be donated to other pups in need. I know those we donated to last were super grateful! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No baby should start life off this way, but together we will try and make it better for her. A lot of you are sending messages and I just want to reiterate SHE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. I know she’s cute AF, but I want to get her living her best life first before we talk about that next step. A lot of people are asking for her because they assume since something is “wrong” with her and she’s not “perfect” she won’t be as expensive, but that is the WRONG mindset. The reality is these babies (even without any issues) are high maintence and cost a lot to care for properly and if you add on a health issue like this there’s no way she is a “less expensive” option. Many people think rescuing a Frenchie is a way to get a “discount” and that’s how so many end back up at a rescue... because the financial responsibility is too much. I don’t want this to happen to her.
Once again I want to thank all you #wallowers for all your support, love and donations. You all helped Lilo so much and I can’t wait to share CG’s journey on Walt’s Instagram and Facebook pages, @waltergeoffreythefrenchie, you all. Please share this link if you get the chance!
