The Wanda Pierce Fund
Donation protected
Wanda Pierce, loving mother of 3 and proud grandmother of 3, was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a grade IV terminal brain cancer, in October of 2015. The prognosis was a few months to a year to live.

Wanda was a self-employed hair stylist who gave the gifts of joy, beauty, and friendship to her beloved clients for over 40 years. She worked hard to keep up with her bills, but she had little savings and canceled her health insurance several years ago when her rates became unmanageable.

She has already bravely undergone powerful radiation and chemotherapy treatments to slow the growth of her tumor and fights to hold on to the positive spirit that we've all relied upon for support in our own dark times. She has received great medical care but at an astronomical cost. Even though she was fortunate enough to qualify for some financial aid from the hospital, there are many expenses she needs help with now that she is unable to continue the career she loved:
-10% of hospital and treatment bills
-living expenses such as food, mortgage, and home repair
-daytime and nighttime caregivers (as it is not safe for her to be alone)
All money goes directly toward mounting expenses that are coming out of the pockets of a few close family members. Wanda has stood strong as an unwavering source of love and support for so many people for so long, and now we're asking friends, extended family, and acquaintances to be there for her.
Every few dollars is another hour that a caregiver can stay with her or another breakfast she can pay for without feeling like a financial burden to her children.

It means so incredibly much to the family for this phenomenal woman to get the care she needs right now in the precious time she has left with us.
She needs all the love, quality time, and support you can possibly offer. Thank you all for your generosity.
