Hi, my name is Nina and Wanita Eckert is my mother. She is the sole owner/operator of Canal Edge Hair Salon, a small business in Phoenix, NY.
She was diagnosed with Diffuse B Cell Lymphoma November 2023. This is a very aggressive growing form of cancer but fortunately it responds well to aggressive chemotherapy. Her current treatment plan is to be hospitalized for 5 days at a time to receive chemotherapy followed by 16 days at home – she will be doing 6 rounds of this.
On February 9th, 2024, she went back to the hospital to start round 3, to which she was sent home due to a positive Covid-19 test. She has 12 more weeks of treatments barring no further setbacks.
She has remained optimistic and hopeful throughout this whole process. Even through losing her hair. She anticipated being able to work during the 16 days she was home and not receiving treatment. The treatment has drained her energy levels, and she has only been able to work 4 days since the first round (December 29th, 2023). She is very eager to resume her normal activities but has been unable to do so.
I am asking for help and support to hopefully alleviate some financial stresses. To allow my mom to resume her life after she beats this cancer, without heavy financial burden moving forward. To have her business to return to after she kicks this cancers butt!!
I am gracious and grateful to all that are able to donate, and those that share this fundraiser.
