Fight for my son

I've never spoken publicly about this but, I really need you. Almost two years ago my whole world shattered. No begging, no humiliation, no torture that I endured would matter. The divorce was non-negotiable. I was shocked to say the least. My lack of self-worth and my brokeness was a dunce hat for all to see. It was obvious and I'm truly sorry for those who had to see it. What you didn't see was the nights I held my sons shaking body as he wept in my arms. A familiar pain to someone who also payed the price for Mom & Dad's divorce. I had to do better for him.

I have been a father for 17+ years. And despite the my highest highs and lowest lows, the ONE thing that remains a constant in my daily walk, is my devotion to my 17 year old daughter and 6 year old son. Family, friends, and even the un-friends could testify to that. A great parent isn't a perfect person. Rather, it's a parent who did THE BEST THEY COULD AT THAT TIME IN THEIR LIFE.

On New Years Day 2020, I wouldn't just go home to all my things in trash bags. I'd also have who I thought was my soulmate & in whom I most trusted, let me know that I'd have to fight for my son's best interest in a year and a half long battle for 50/50 or shared custody, which was the only thing I asked for in the divorce. Attorneys & Judges, CPS workers & Custody Evaluators were all called on to determine custody. In June of 2021 the divorce was finalized, 50/50 custody was awarded, case closed.

Or so I thought...

The appeal began this month. Some people are just full of surprises. And it's no secret that, I just wasn't financially prepared to continue fighting for my son. I've got all the fight, I am desperate for the fund. 

I'm asking anyone who is able, no matter the amount. Please help me FIGHT FOR MY SON. My attorney's retainer is what I need the help with. I will be sure to keep everyone updated on our progress weekly. I want people to know what it is like to go through this from a father's prospective and I also want everyone to know the difference their contribution is making as we continue to #FIGHTFORNICHOLAS
