Wanting to make my daughters dreams come true
Donation protected
In 2006 my daughter, then aged 7 was spending a normal day at school when I recieved a call to say she had been whisked to hospital after she presented with severe abdominal pain... after multiple tests' we were confronted with the devastating news that she had Pelvic Ewings Sarcoma (Cancer) .... our hearts sank, the prognosis was the Cancer was treatable but not curable so we would be faced with this throughout her life, with the prospect of continuing treatments and surgeries. The fact was the treatment she was about to receive would result in both her overies & fallopian tubes being removed and the abdominal Radiotherapy damaging the womb growth & ruin any chances of carrying children in later life.
The surgeries' went ahead and even though we understood the consequences of the treatments we were so focused on keeping her alive that the damage done was almost a small price to pay.. Until now!
She has grown into a happy & healthy women, we feel so blessed to be able to say that and are so incredibly grateful to have her here with us. The surgeries' did result in her losing all reproductive organs and as she was so young at the time her womb never grew. As a teenager she was offered Hormone Replacement Therapy, hoping this would encourage the womb to grow, if it worked at least she would be able to carry a baby but would be unable to conceive without the intervention of IVF and egg donation. Unfortunately the therapy didn't work and her womb grew no bigger than a 10 pence coin. We were all devastated by this news, the one thing she had dreamt about since having the cancer is having children of her own. She's a natural mother and as her mum I want to make her dreams come true, as all mothers do!
After extensive talks with my family, my daughter and her long term partner we agreed too go through the surrogacy process, using my womb to carry for them. So the search began to seek an egg donation and a facility that could help us on our journey.
We started with doctors appointments and referrals, hoping that due to the nature of why she couldn't conceive (radiotherapy and surgery) that we might be able to get some help on the NHS.
This was met with a "No" we appealed over and over the past few years but the answer was the same... "No". We totally understand that the NHS has limited resources, but we are so desperate to help her that we are having to look at other means to raise the money for Surrogacy.
So here we are, we are a normal working family, My partner and I have 4 children, we couldn't be more proud of her, she has worked so hard to get to this point in her life where she has a loving partner, a good job, a warm home and lots of love to give. But as with all working families money is thin on the ground, especially when trying to raise the money needed to pay for treatment privately.
Which is where we are kindly asking you amazing people to help us in our journey to make their dream a reality.. We know in today's world that we are all struggling so even small donations help build the total.. Every penny truly does help.
We have looked into costs of treatment which was something that took us all aback and after careful consideration set our target.
We hope that you will be able to support our family in making this not a dream anymore but a reality.
With love and kindness from my family to yours x
