War Torn Dreams: Help Gaza Engineer Family Rebuild
Donation protected
My name is Katherine Young, based in Berlin, and I met Mohsen Afana while volunteering at Gaza Sky Geeks in 2023. I am raising this on his behalf.
Mohsen Eiyas Afana - Software Engineer and Technical Training assistant in Gaza Sky Geeks
Nermin Kamal Hamdan - Project Coordinator, Lecturer
Story:
My wife, Nermin, and I are expecting a baby in the 8th month. Due to the ongoing conflict, our doctor advises Nermin needs surgery to deliver the baby safely. Sadly, this critical medical care is unavailable in Gaza.
Mohsen and Nermin want to rebuild our lives and raise our family in a safe environment after we lost our home in Gaza.
I, Mohsen, am a software engineer passionate about helping others through technology and learning new technical skills to start their career in technology sectors.
Nermin, a project coordinator and university lecturer, is eager to complete her PHD degree in Communication Engineering.
Our Goal:
This campaign aims to raise $30,000 to secure safe passage for our family and establish a new life abroad.
Breakdown of Funds:
-Housing: $15,000 (deposits, rent, initial living expenses)
-Maternity Care: $5,000 (health insurance and medical costs for Nermin and the baby)
-Job Training & Support: $5,000 (vocational training, resume building, career counseling for Nermin)
-Emergency Fund: $5,000 (unforeseen expenses during resettlement)
Impact:
Your contribution will enable a safe delivery for Nermin, secure a new home for our family, and empower Mohsen and Nermin to complete their education and pursue a fulfilling career.
Transparency:
We understand your trust is crucial. We will provide regular updates on our journey and how your donations are utilized.
Call to Action:
Please consider donating and share our campaign with your network. Every contribution brings us closer to rebuilding our dreams and creating a safe future for our family.
