Wards Island Thanksgiving Project

My name is Jerry Dragon. Since 2015 by the Grace of God I have been working tirelessly in effort to relieve some men on Wards Island. I was once homeless and felt that no one thought of me, nor came to my relief. Because I know the feeling, I want to reach out to those men whom are homeless and give back in any way that I can. 
-Last year on Thanksgiving day, Myself and a few friends gathered and went to the island and donated food that fed up to 115 people. Although it was a great help, our service brought joy, but we weren't able to serve everyone because we ran out of food.
 
This year the scope of work has increased and we are faced with 355 people. We are in need of volunteers and donations. I have gathered a list of items that we willl need in order to provide these men with an actual Thanksgiving day lunch and  dinner. Our goal is to help facilitate life for the less fortunate and we are starting with a simple meal. As an alumni of Boys and Girls high school I've learned that through adversity character is forged and  the words "just get it done" one of the slogans when I attended(02-06) have been ingrained in my brain. In order to get it done,  we need help. I've reached out to a friend of mine whom is a chef and asked him to put together a menu for me and a list of items needed. Here is the list of items we are currently in need of.
 For the amount of people you will  need:
Lunch:
1- 12 packs of Kraft singles American Cheese
2- 365 hero sandwich bread
3- 2 gallons of Mayonaise
4- 2 gallons of mustard
5- 50 tomatoes
6- 14 heads of iceberg lettuce
7- 8 packs of Frito-Lay classic mix
8- 16 cases of bottled water
Dinner:
1- 60 pounds turkey
2- 12 pounds stuffing
3- 6#10 cans of green beans
4- 6#10 cans of corn
5- 365 rolls
6- 750 cookies(Dessert)
7- 20 gallons of tea
8- 15 gallons of water
8- 15 cases of bottled water

Once we've gathered these items, the most important of it all is volunteers. We will need  20 volunteers to successfully serve all 355 men.  We hope you will join us as we embark on this great jouney to impact the lives of many through our charitable efforts. As we are 10 days away from Thanksgiving day, we are counting on your donations to make this day possible.  We hope and believe that we will be successful in getting this done because of your helping hands.
