Northern York Warehouse Legal Defense Fund
Donation protected
Dear Community Members,
In our concerted efforts to oppose the proposed development of the Northern Business Park warehouse (near the schools south of town), it has become evident that legal representation is crucial. After careful consideration, we, the Carrol Township residents of Golfview Heights and Golf Course Road, have obtained the services of Nathan Wolf and William Cluck to represent us in the ongoing legal proceedings. These two excellent attorneys have extensive experience and success in defeating warehouse developments such as this and we now need your help raising funds to defend our community.
This decision aims to ensure that our collective voices are heard and that our community's concerns are given the attention they deserve from the Carroll Twp Board of Supervisors. However, legal representation entails expenses. A group of named objectors has contributed to raising the initial $15,000 required to secure expertise in navigating this intricate process. As you may know, this particular development is funded and directed by people from far outside our community, and, as a result, they care little about the impact this development would have on us. As a result, we need quality representation throughout the township conditional use hearings to provide appropriate counsel and organize expert witnesses. Our objective is to safeguard the best interests of our community, emphasizing concerns regarding traffic, noise, and potential safety hazards, among others.
For those willing to assist, here's how you can contribute:
1. Financial Support: We have initiated this GoFundMe campaign to alleviate some of the aforementioned legal costs and prepare for continuing costs associated with the defense. We understand the financial challenges, particularly during this time of year, but any contribution, regardless of size, brings us closer to preserving our community's welfare. Our initial funding was raised by a small group of neighbors, each committing upwards of $3,000. We hope our community and neighbors can help us offset the upfront costs and prepare for the future, as opposition to this development affects us all.
2. Social Outreach: Spread awareness by sharing the GoFundMe link and informing other concerned township residents about ways to extend their support. Unity is vital in this endeavor.
We sincerely appreciate your support and solidarity. Together, we can work towards protecting our community and its values.
