Hope for Nepal's Children

Hi, my name is Becca and I’ve started this GoFundMe to help a good friend of mine named Tenjing. In 2019, I met Tenjing while working for a nonprofit in Kathmandu, Nepal. We quickly bonded over our shared passion to help others and a joy of adventure! After returning to the US, I realized a piece of my heart would always stay in Nepal. The people I was able to form connections with helped me grow as a person and expanded my perspective of what's truly important in life.

In Nepal, I saw people in need like I’d never witnessed before, and those memories sit with my heart everyday. The living conditions are harsh, especially when located in remote villages in the mountains. Grocery stores and clothing shops don’t exist in these environments, and access to work that can pays for these necessities isn’t available.

Tenjing is a very kind and giving person who spends a majority of his free time traveling to remote areas and bringing supplies to people in need throughout Nepal. It's not a bed-of-roses getting to these places for him either. It requires the stamina and lung capacity of a seasoned athlete to hike these mountains. Tenjing does it anyway with heavy supplies & a bike!

Tenjing treks and cycles through terrain that is unkind to those who dare enter. He pushes through any weather: rain, snow or scorching heat to follow through on his promises. He searches to help the people who have been forgotten by the rest of us. Tenjing does this out of the pure goodness of his heart, and he is filled with the strength to do it because he believes in humanity.

Tenjing isn’t able to collect the funds to provide these necessities to the children on his own. Fundraising in Nepal is not an easy task when the majority of the population is struggling. So, this is how we can help Tenjing help the children of Nepal. I am asking you to help me empower Tenjing to bring these children warm clothing, learning materials, first aid supplies and more.

Let these children know that their brothers and sisters from around the world hear their call for help and are ready to answer with open arms and an open heart.

Tenjing and I greatly appreciate any amount you are able to give to this cause! Tenjing hopes to have all the funds receive by the end of April 2024! Afterwards, Tenjing will purchase all the supplies and begin planning his trip to deliver them to the children in Manang, Nepal.
