Warm Coats for Fillmore's Kids
Donation protected
11/26/2018 Please please please help us reach our goal of putting a coat on the shoulders of every child coming through the line this year. Our donations are way down this year.
11/21/2018 It was 44 degrees this morning. Please help put a warm coat on our Fillmore-Piru Community's children this winter. As Marion Wright Edelman, the founder of the Children’s Defense Fund says: “We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.” Please make a difference in a life.

It was cold and raining and windy the day 10 years ago when I was helping at the toy give way and was shocked and disturbed at how few of the children had coats on in the freezing cold. It was not that they had forgotten their coat- it was that they did not have a one. There are Fillmore and Piru children who will be coming to the Fillmore Fire Department on Landeros Way on Saturday the 15th to collect a free toy. Many families wait for hours and hours for this Christmas community gift. Please help us place a coat on the children coming through the line. Can you give $100?
11/13/2018 Our community has been shattered with the Borderline shooting and the recent fires. Santa Clara Valley Legal Aid joins our supporters to celebrate our first responders and we are grateful for the generosity of the Fillmore Volunteer Firefighters Foundation and the Ventura County Deputy Sheriff's Foundation and others in celebrating our Fillmore community at the local toy, book and coat give away this December 15, 2018 at the Fillmore Fire Department.
Please help Santa Clara Valley Legal Aid buy brand new winter coats for Fillmore's children. When you write a check for coats, your dollars stay right here in our little Fillmore community. The warm coats warm the small cold shoulders of a needy child. Please be generous and support our local efforts. If you write a check directly to the Fillmore Volunteer Firefighters Foundation, POB 331, Fillmore, CA 93016 and designate coats in the memo line, you can take the charitable deduction. Please click to give and know that every single dollar we receive buys a coat. There are no administrative costs or fees. We are looking to give away 750 new coats this year.
We need your help now. We need money before Black Friday to make the most of your dollars. Please make a difference for our children.
