Warren's Recovery

Hi! My name is Julie Campione, and I am doing a fundraiser for my boyfriend, Warren Wojtowicz.

Warren and I were in a car accident on 2/18/22 in the Town of Newstead. The road conditions were horrible. We believe we hit a patch of ice under the snow-covered road, which caused us to slide into the opposite lane. Warren's Ford Edge was t-boned by a Dodge Ram truck on his side. The responders had to remove his door to get him out of the vehicle. He was then transported to ECMC by ambulance.

Warren suffered from a fractured sternum, fractured pelvis, fractured ribs, two breaks in his left shin, and a cut above his left eye that required stitches. He had surgery on that same night, where they put a rod and screws in his left leg. Due to his injuries, his breathing was difficult, and his oxygen levels were not very high. He was put on a ventilator and into a medically-induced coma for a couple of weeks. The ventilator was then removed, and a trach was put in. After five weeks in ICU, they moved him to the rehab floor. One of the nurses noticed that his oxygen levels were not quite where they should be, so testing was ordered. Come to find out, Warren had a blood clot in his lung and had to have it removed. This was a step backward, which put him back into ICU. A filter was put in his right leg to prevent further clots. After three months at ECMC, he was discharged. He is currently having OT, PT, and nursing come to the house to help him walk again. He also suffers from nerve damage in his left arm and does not have full use of it.

We just found out on 5/25, that his insurance coverage is almost all used. He will not be getting the 80% of lost wages that No Fault covers since his medical bills are so high. Warren does not have any income coming in as disability benefits are not offered through his work. We are estimating he won't be back to work until at least September. As a machine operator, he has to have full use of his hands and legs.

I am asking you to please help out any way you can so he can use the funds for ongoing medical bills and his regular monthly bills until he can work again.
