Warrington Pipe Band Equipment Fundraiser

The Warrington Pipe Band has been a feature in our local community for almost 100 years. We actively take part in Many events in the area and further afield. In 2020 these will include taking part in Warrington’s 75th Anniversary of VE day celebrations which will include many performances around the town, as well as our many local parades and events that we support each year.

The band is 100% self funded and we aim to provide members with full equipment and uniforms. The cost of kitting out a member in uniform is well over £600 and combine this with the equipment they require it is easily over £1200 per member.

The band has been extremely lucky over the last few months to have had an influx of new juvenile members and their hard work and commitment they are now ready to start turning out with the band. They not only learn musical skills but they also develop life skills such as confidence, team work and social skills.

Many of these members are in the drum corps and they require new drum harnesses that will not only provide then with the opportunity to turn out and play in the band but also protect then from potential back problems in the future. The new style harnesses that we are looking to purchase have full back and lumber supports that will ensure this.

The other issue is that young people “grow up quickly” and their uniforms require replacement as they mature. This again puts further financial strain on the band.
