Alexander’s Heart Surgeries

Alexander was born September 27, 2023 to Jessica and Logan Dumont. Alexander was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) the day after he was born. He was immediately airlifted to UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital for surgery, where his amazing surgeon and surgical team saved Alexander’s life.

Alexander was then transferred to Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) and is recovering well. Alexander is so loved by the best Mommy and Daddy who are giving him lots of love through this difficult time.

Alexander will need a total of three surgeries. He will need the 2nd surgery at approximately 3 months old and the final surgery at approximately 3 years old. Alexander has been a brave little warrior throughout his 1st surgery and we are all confident he will do the same for the next two surgeries.

Although Jessica and Logan have insurance it doesn’t cover all medical expenses. Your generous donation will go towards medical expenses for all 3 surgeries. Please keep Alexander in prayer. This is a long journey for him and his loving parents. We praise God for the miracle of our little Warrior!!

Message from Alexander’s Mommy Jessica: I thought I had prepared for everything in the months leading up to Alexander’s birth. The nursery made cozy and house readied, food prepped in the freezer to last the first couple weeks, and countless hours spent researching how to best care for our newborn son. But I could never have imagined him needing life saving surgery in the first few days of his life. We were not emotionally or financially prepared for this and we still have two surgeries to go. We are fortunate to have good insurance, but long hospital stays and surgeries costs add up. We’re planning to save up as much as possible but any help would be greatly appreciated if anyone would like ways to help. And thank you so much to everyone who has helped us on this journey, I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you for being here for us. Thank you ❤️‍ 

Message from Alexander’s Daddy Logan: I fought my family against the idea of a “Go Fund Me” as I don’t like appearing publicly vulnerable and I’ve never been one to ask for handouts. I’ve realized I need to put my pride aside and put my son’s health first. Our son’s heart condition was a shock, as it was not discovered until post-birth. Not only were we not emotionally ready for our son to face open-heart surgery, we were not financially ready either. We’ve got two more surgeries to go. It pains me to ask others for help, but we really are in need of it. Honestly, anything helps. When this is all said and done, I will pay it forward. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
