Lucas Barrett

This is my dear friend, Michelle Barrett, and her son Lucas.   The Barrett family received news recently that no family is ever prepared to hear.  Cancer.   Lucas was diagnosed on his 16th birthday with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in his left femur.  The solid tumor cancer measures nine inches.  

Lucas was admitted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Egleston, on June 29th for his port procedure and the first phase of chemotherapy which will be a year long protocol.  Limb salvage surgery is scheduled for September.   

Michelle, was just getting her small business off the ground when Lucas got sick. Robert, her husband, is an educator.   Everything in both Michelle and Robert's lives is taking a back seat to  Lucas's physical and emotional care as well as that of their 11 year old daughter, Gracie. 

My goal in starting this Go Fund Me page is to help support Michelle and Robert (with help from our amazing network of friends) so they can remain focused on the well being of both Lucas, and their daughter Gracie, not the financial burden associated with medical care.
