For my beloved Father, Warsum Rudy Nardi

I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Warsum Rudy Nardi, has passed away. His unwavering strength and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and we are now coming together to honor his memory. Let me tell you a bit about my father.

He grew up in the countryside of Indonesia in a small town called Banyumas. At 18 years old, he set off to sea with his older brother working for a Dutch shipping company. Starting as a deckhand, he found a passion in cooking while assisting in the ships kitchen.

As a sailor, he visited the Netherlands, Greece, Egypt, London, Paris, Australia, Japan, China, Canada, and the Caribbean islands. He learned different languages, ate a variety of food and made friends wherever he was. After his years of travel he settled down and started a family in New York.

He was a chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan. He worked long hours and barely used his vacation time to put food on the table and to keep a roof over our heads. He adopted multiple animals, helped open several restaurants, fed thousands of people and volunteered in 9/11 to provide food for those searching for the lost.

My father was a resilient, patient, kind, and strong man, devoting his life to provide for his family.

The funds raised will go directly towards his hospital bills and funeral services, helping to ease the stress on my family during this difficult time. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and is deeply appreciated.
