Washington Family Rally and Rebuild!

Sometime after midnight on August 11, 2024, one deviant act of arson destroyed one of Charlottesville's favorite pizza places: Vocelli Pizza. This terribly timed fire has set off a very complex set of problems for the Washington family who own this restaurant and who have built their livelihood around it for 18 years. They now have to figure out how to support their family and their employees in the face of this emergency while they live through the rebuilding phase that is full of uncertainty.

As local business owners, the Washington family has always generously given back to the community. They regularly donate their time and their pizza to their three children's public schools, they enhance Charlottesville's tastebuds and economy, and they are often known to offer to their support to local friends who are in need. But now, they could use all the support that their community can give back to THEM. Let's show them that all of their generosity goes go both ways! Please consider donating to help them in their time of need while they raise their three school-aged kids and manage the overhead costs of running a family business with an unplanned halt to their income. Let's rally around them and lift them up!

The thing about arson is that it isn't just about rebuilding the structure that burnt down. That's what insurance companies are for. It's about the all of the other invisible things that can fall apart when a family business unexpectedly takes a hit, like making financial ends meet when your revenue stops abruptly, supporting your family with no income for an unknown stretch of time, and putting your current and future family and professional life plans on hold without going under. Vocelli Pizza is more than just a building and some tasty pizza slices. To the Washington family, it is life.
