Water For Wekeke

Tax deductible
Solar Chapter is a student organization that was founded in August 2017 at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC), and have expanded  to 7 branches across the globe. Our mission is to improve the living quality of communities in rural parts of Indonesia by providing clean water access, improving education quality, and improving the community overall.

Our next water project will be at Wekeke Village.

Wekeke Village, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia:
The village of Wekeke is located in Kecamatan Rinhat, and it is home to 1105 villagers. Unfortunately, The village has less than ideal conditions. Villagers of Wekeke  walk for hours to access the nearest river, taking away precious time and effort from their daily lives.

Solar Chapter will provide water access to Wekeke in mid 2022:
It is a water access system powered by Solar Energy. Solar Panels, water pumps, and wells will be implemented in the village. Designed by our technical team at UIUC, the system will distribute water around 1.8 miles from the water source to the village.

We, Solar Chapter, are committed to finish this water project in Wekeke village, and we need your help to reach our goal.

With all the help and support from the community, as well as from different parties both in Indonesia and overseas, in total, Solar Chapter has successfully provide clean water to more than 4,400 villagers in NTT. We hope that we can continue in realizing our mission with your contribution.
