Water Well for a Gambian School
Donation protected
I visited the Gambia recently on a DXpedition with 3 radio friends (Luc F5RAV, Gerard F5NVF & Jan Francois F4AHV) for 2 weeks. We were given 1500 dollars by a Japanese OM Zorro JH1AJT to carry out some charity work whilst there. We decided to donate the money towards improvements to a local village school mostly built by a Scottish couple. We agreed to use the money to refurbish the toilets to improve hygiene and work is already underway.
We would like to ask for your help, however small the amount, to raise further funds to pay for a bore hole (water well) and a 2000 litre water storage to be used by the school. It was agreed with the Headmaster to also fit a tap outside the school for the villagers to use as water is scarce in the area. If we are able to collect enough monies to pay for the well and have some left over, we will look into having manual water pumps in other villages.
Here are some photos of the school.
Thank you for your help!
