Disaster Relief: Nepal 2015
Donation protected
In April 2014, 17 individuals from the University of Waterloo travelled to Nepal to trek to Mount Everest Basecamp. After spending time high in the Himalayas, and in Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Bhaktapur, each of us left behind pieces of our heart in the beautiful and historic country.
We are all deeply saddened to hear of the massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake which struck near the country's capital, Kathmandu. As the death toll rises in the cities and in the mountains, we feel we can not sit idly by.
Funds raised will be used to help with immediate relief efforts, as well as long-term efforts to re-build even a fraction of what was lost in the quake. As the Government of Canada has announced all funds donated through the Canadian Red Cross will be matched, funds raised will reach Nepal through the Nepal Region Earthquake Fund set up by the Canadian Red Cross.
Please support if you can .
Namaste.
