Watermelon Couch Road Trip Documentary

Hey, my name is James Shields and I need your help capturing Black Farmers' stories on my watermelon couch. The Watermelon Couch is a multimedia project aimed at debunking the racist stereotypes associated with Black people and food.
Starting on Juneteenth, I will be traveling throughout the Deep South, interviewing Black watermelon farmers and other professionals in agriculture. My goal is to create a library of creative resources and media that will inspire and educate us about the contributions and journies of Black communities in agriculture.
Interview w/ California Farmer Paul Gaskin of Blue Ridge Farm
With your help, I aim to raise $20,000 to cover travel and production costs throughout the summer. By supporting this project, you are contributing to a larger movement of addressing the food insecurities of underserved communities.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will help make this project a reality. Join me in this effort to promote food equality by supporting the Watermelon Couch Road Trip Documentary.
