26hr Silence Challenge for Male Victims of Abuse
On average it takes 26 years for a man to speak out about sexual abuse or rape.
My name is Danny Byrne, and I am proud to be a counsellor for the WAVES Counselling Project, an amazing service that seeks to support all victims of domestic abuse and violence, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, or income.
I have accepted the challenge by Survivors UK to remain silent for 26 hours from 9PM Saturday 16th March to 11PM Sunday 16th March, to raise awareness of the sexual abuse and violence men suffer, where on average it a takes man 26 years to be able to speak out about the abuse.

A campaign to start a discussion without talking
During this time WAVES will be sharing statistics regarding male abuse and violence as researched by the ManKind initiative.
As a part of this challenge I am raising funds for WAVES, a charity I and many others volunteer for, that I support with all my heart. I am thankful to each client who has shared his or her experiences with me, and I am proud of our service that is able to support anyone who needs it. It truly is a vital service within Cornwall.
Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated and can help make all the difference to someones life, whether it is a father, son, brother, or best friend, there are men out there who need this support. #26HourChallenge #WeHearYou
Thank you :)
