Jeremy's Liver Transplant Fund

Jeremy Kennedy, our Flavorite™ flavor in stock, the rarest birb of them all, recently received a rather grim diagnosis: Cirrhosis of the Liver, with advanced irreversible damage and numbered days to boot…and while not so unaccustomed to death threats, they have never received one from such an accredited source.

Cirrhosis is heavy duty—it’s like, srsly, the Liverwurst—replete with a variety of surrounding symptoms and complications. In Jeremy’s case, the liver overlords went yard, not showing much restraint in the allotment of additional ailments, all amplified by preexisting issues, such as anemia. Jeremy is constantly in a lot of pain these days.

Jeremy was originally told that they have 6-8 months to live. Thankfully lifestyle changes and medical intervention has bought some time, but Jeremy needs a working liver, and the word on destiny street is: Transplant.

Sometimes it takes a village to save a Jeremy and that sometimes, more than ever, is now. It’s time for all of us to become those Village People. We have hopeful hearts, and with your support, we can create the most powerfully good, lifesaving results for Jeremy and an unbeatable, low-stress rainbow of recovery for their (potential) amazing donor.

Please consider becoming a living donor

Up the ante and break off a piece of liver for your boi. I mean…it grows back!

One of our biggest priorities right now is finding a living liver donor with type O+ or O- blood. Currently the National Liver Wait List estimates 11 months for a non-living liver donation, however Jeremy chances of surviving the year are pretty low. Donations from living donors statistically have a higher success rate for being tolerated by the recipient's body.

Jeremy currently has a walking angel in his life that has offered to be their donor, but we’re waiting to find out if they are a match. Since we’re still in the preliminary stages of donor/recipient evaluations, there is a possibility that they could be rejected as a donor.

Your donations will help Jeremy receive and recover from a liver transplant. A portion of the funds will also go toward supporting their living donor until they are completely healed.

There are myriad expenses ahead as Jeremy's recovery time could take 4-12 months, while his donor will be looking at 2-6 months of recovery. These funds will help cover transportation to appointments, medical supplies, caretaker fees, meals. Donations will also go toward supporting Jeremy and their donor’s living expenses, as they will not be able to work during their recovery.

Your support will greatly deescalate stresses and burdens from Jeremy so they can focus on healing with minimal worry.

Our current immediate need is $13,500 to make necessary mobility adjustments to Jeremy's apartment, ensure they have emergency funds should they not be able to work soon, and offset expenses for their family to travel to LA. $45,000 is the current ballpark for long-term needs but is, most likely, a conservative estimate.
