Wayland High School's Turf Field Studio

Tax deductible
As the athletic facilities at Wayland High School undergo a major upgrade, the time is now for WayCAM to build a state-of-the-art multimedia studio at the high school’s athletic complex located on the turf field. Will you join us in our fundraising effort?

We can make a difference for current and future Wayland High School students by bringing broadcast education to a whole new level. The new media system will enable sporting events, graduations, and community activities to be broadcast live and/or recorded for online viewing.

Your donation will benefit WayCAM (Wayland Community Access and Media, Inc.) and help with the purchase of six robotic cameras to be placed on the field, including a wireless, manned camera covering action shots and interviews.  The field studio will have two-way communication for the announcers in the press box and the field reporter, all going back to a student director located in the WayCAM studio.  Events can be broadcasted live to our channel and online through our website.  The programs can also be recorded for a future broadcast.

Who is going to benefit from this fundraising effort? High school students will be gaining skills for life-changing career opportunities and be well prepared for college-level broadcast studies.  In recent years, a number of Wayland High School students have used their WayCAM experiences as a springboard for college studies and entrance into the broadcast industry.  WayCAM participation gives students a chance to earn community service credits, while gaining technical skills and the sense of belonging that comes with being part of a working crew.

Residents of all ages will have access to improved and timely broadcasts of sporting events, as well as school and community activities.

Help us improve the broadcast experience WayCAM offers students and volunteers, and please support our commitment to improving viewing opportunities. Your tax-deductible donation will make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

Wayland Community Access and Media, Inc. (WayCAM) operates a non-commercial, Public, Education, and Government (PEG) access television cable station and provides access and training to its community.
