Waylon and Raffy brown snake recovery.

*UPDATE*

both my fur babies have now been brought home and are on track for recovery. Thank you to everyone that’s donated so far and to everyone that’s sent their wishes and prayers our way we are all so grateful.

reminder to be aware snakes are out and about in large numbers already and we are only in spring, the vets said Waylon and Raffy were just 2 of roughly 20 dogs that came into their emergency vet clinic for snake bites just over the long weekend alone. So please keep an eye out, check on your pets, watch your kids outdoors. I would not want anyone to experience what we have just been through and I’m sure not everyone would be so lucky to be bringing their best friends back home and I don’t even want to imagine that so please stay alert as the weather continues to warm up.

Hi, my name is Ethan and I am fundraising to help cover the costs of vet bills for my two furbabies.

on the 01/10/2023 I came outside to find my 18 week old puppy (Raffy) holding a dead brown snake in the backyard of our residential property in Canberra. I quickly took both her and my very much loved 3 year old Staffordshire to the emergency vet where it was unfortunately confirmed that Waylon was showing all traces of venom in his blood and Raffy also showing some traces in hers.

after not hesitating to save our beloved family members lives they were both given 2 vials of anti venom. Raffy has now been brought back home with us this morning after spending the night at the vet but unfortunately we are still waiting to hear more about my best mate Waylon who is still in at the vet.

we currently have $8000 in vet bills and still counting as Waylon is still needing care in hopes he pulls through, I don’t like asking for money but please if you are able to even donate the smallest amount would go a long way in helping us to cover these bills that were needed for us to do everything we can to save both our furbabies lives.
