Wayne Baxter Memorial Bench

Wayne Baxter passed away peacefully on Jan 30th, 2021 in Ottawa, Ontario. He was 73.
As Wayne did not wish for a burial, his family (Dorothy, Shayna, and Michael) would like to have a bench dedicated to him in his honour.
Wayne would walk often and he loved visiting Hogs Back Park, near his home, where he would sit at his favourite tree to relax and enjoy his book. We have chosen this area which we feel would best represent him to have this dedication.
In order to do so, we are accepting donations. Our wish is to provide a place where people can stop and think, read, rest, and reflect. We are hoping to raise the funds for this which includes 10 years of maintenance.
Wayne was loved by many and liked by all whose path he crossed. His wishes were that there be a celebration of laughter, food, drinks, and memories shared. Once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, we plan to have a celebration of life that lives up to his legacy, one in Ottawa and eventually one in Vancouver. We will be sure to reach out once we have dates confirmed.
If additional funds are raised, it will be put towards this. We can't thank you enough.
