Wayne Chapman

Hello, my name is Kelly Chapman. I am helping raise funds for travel expenses to support my father-in-law, Wayne Chapman who suffered a life-threatening medical emergency.

In 2019, Wayne had kidney cancer. Due to treatment complications, he developed diabetes. He was working so hard at his HVAC business, that in 2022 he realized life is too short and sold his business and home near Charlotte. He and Dani found a 2005 live-aboard boat, and together with their cat, Carmen, set sail for a year to fulfill a dream and focus on a healthier and happier existence. Then this devastating stroke halted everything........

Wayne suffered a stroke in the Bahamas that required him to have life-saving emergency surgery. Luckily, he survived and is showing signs of coherence. He is being moved back by ambulance plane back to SC in the next few days to be around the medical staff that knows him and specialists that can better support this journey. Doctors said he could make a full recovery, but small steps at a time. There are many unknowns, and we are continuing to pray for positive news every day. He has a new role to fill soon of "Grandpa"...his first grandson is due in May.
