Update on Babycakes:

We were able to file a restraining order this on June 15, 2023, in order to stop the people who stole her from taking possession of her. With that restraining order, we filed a civil lawsuit since that is the last avenue we have to request a judge award us possession of our beloved Babycakes. The perpetrators responsible for her theft weaseled their way out of the criminal charges. Our first court date is in 2 weeks. Babycakes remains safe and away from the horrible people who ‘pignapped’ her and treated her with cruelty and contempt.

History of Case:

Babycakes was taken in January 2022 from the sanctuary; whether she wandered onto their land or not, she was never returned to the sanctuary. Her callous “pignappers” hid her for 9 months behind one of their sheds in a pen. In September 2022, they decided to put her in a pen they constructed which was 100 feet from her family and the rest of the herd. As soon as I saw her in the pen on their property, I searched for photos and found multiple photos of her at different ages. I phoned the Sheriff’s office but they refused to do anything because the perps who stole her had photos of her dating back to January 2022

A few months ago I was able to get the Sheriff’s office to move on the case and criminal charges were pressed against Babycakes’ thieves … but of course, as usual, they were able to get the charges dismissed.

on June 15, 2023, her thieves were supposed to take possession of her again, but my attorney was able to file for a restraining order and a judge signed it before Babycakes was returned to her “pignappers”. I had to pay $1000.00 this morning for the restraining order; this does not include the attorney’s fees. It is going to cost thousands to get Babycakes back to us. We are going to do everything we can to be granted and regain possession of Babycakes. During this process, we are asking that anyone who can donate to offset our legal fees and other costs donate through this GoFundMe campaign. No amount is too small and helps us continue to fight to make sure Babycakes returns to the safety and comfort of the sanctuary where she can reunite with her family and herd.
