Support for Owen Waterhouse

Donation protected
As many of you are aware, on November 29 our beautiful, Kelowna born-and-raised, Owen Waterhouse was involved in the tragic car accident involving three of the TRU Wolfpack Volleyball team members.

Owen remains in a medically induced coma and is in critical condition, in care of the phenomenal team in ICU at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops. He has sustained severe brain trauma and life will be forever changed.

More than just an outside hitter and an exemplary teammate for the TRU Wolfpack Men's volleyball team, Owen is an extraordinary young man who lights up any room he enters with his smile. His love for his family, friends, all animals and every imaginable sport, is known to all. His bear hugs and "tarps off" TikToks are infamous. Kindness and love radiate from Oz.

It is no surpirse, the apple does not fall far from the tree. Owen's parents, Kelley and Rick, and his biggest fan, brother Jack (in photo on right) are likely the kindest, most loving, selfless family you have ever encountered. Kelley and Rick are small business owners in Kelowna who have been active, engaged, tireless contributors to the community in every facet of the imagination. From volunteer coaching with the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association for many years, to heading fundraisers for various causes and participating in endless charities such as Easter Seals, to being the folks that will be the first to provide a meal for a family in need. This family would literally give the shirts of their backs.

Owen is supported by his incredible family and very close-knit community of friends from both Kelowna and Kamloops. The love for this family is far reaching and widespread.

Owen and the Waterhouse family not only need our love, strength and positive energy but assistance in supporting them with the unexpected financial burden of living away from home, and all the treatment and rehabilitation that will be involved on the long, unpaved road ahead. If you are able, please help in any way you can. These are unchartered territories and all the support possible will be appreciated beyond words.

With much gratitude and love.
