Theresa was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. While recovering from a double mastectomy she lost her mom. Theresa had to undergo chemo and heavy radiation treatments. After some time she was able to return to work. She kept getting serious infections and was experiencing lots of pain. The doctors were never able to get her infection under control and could not understand why she would get a little better and then the infection would reoccur.
She was unable to continue working due to multiple complications. They discontinued her disability insurance. She has applied for social security but is still waiting on a response.
The doctor put her back in the hospital May 18th. He told her they would not release her till they got to the root of her problem. Turns out the radiation she received killed bone, muscle, and tissue. On Monday June 8th she had her 10th surgery! They removed 4 ribs and cartilage . They removed muscle from the back shoulder to the front and skin grafted! She is in a lot of pain but vows to get through it! She is a fighter and quite a remarkable person!
She jokingly said she had the luck of the Irish that is why this happened to her! Yes through all of this she still has her humor! She has approached her illness with grace and courage.
The medical bills are piling up and with no income it makes life hard to live day to day. Theresa never complains and takes it one day at a time. We would like to help lift the burden financially if at all possible so she can heal without worrying about her financial status.
Thank you!
