Jordan’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday, June 12th, what was supposed to be a fun filled family beach day took a drastic turn.Cody, Jordan and their almost 4 month old
daughter Brailey set out to the lake with some
friends to hang out on the boat for the day.

Nearing the end of of their day trip, a extremely
devastating event took place. By no fault of
anyones, while the boat was preparing for one
last departure, Jordan was letting the tube out
off of the boat, this is when disaster struck. The boat made a sudden turn, the rope which was
attached to the tube was caught on Jordan’s leg, and wrapped around it twice, and within
seconds, she was ejected from the boat into the water. Thankfully, a fast thinking friend jumped
into the water and got her back into the boat.
But unfortunately, in those split few seconds the damage as done.

Jordan’s leg from the knee down was nearly
amputated. The abrasions created from the ropewere so severe that she required STARS
ambulance to airlift her from near Rocky
Mountain House to Calgary.

When she was placed back into the boat most of her leg had been severed, the rope, in so many
words, gave her a massive snake bite. In turn
pulled all the muscle and skin from her leg,
leaving basically just the bone exposed - still
with the rope imbedded in her leg which no
civilian was able to remove.

Once she arrived in Calgary at the hospital, a
trauma surgeon was waiting. She was
immediately rushed into a 8 hour surgery with
only one thing in mind - to save her leg. During
the surgery, Jordan had to have the entire calf
muscle removed from her right leg. She will be
in the hospital for a minimum of two weeks due
to the terrifying nature that with a serious
accident such as this can ultimately caused
dangerous infections.

Jordan is being kept comfortable in hospital. But currently has tubes in her leg to keep blood flow active, as well the surgeon had to cut both sides of her leg open to help drain unnecessary fluids. The doctors are keeping a very close eye on her
in hopes that everything will heal in due time.
She will not regretfully succumb to her injuries
and lose her leg.

She will be going in for another surgery on
Tuesday, June 14th to clean the horrifying wound and inspect the healing process. And then,
once again on Thursday, June 16th.

As you can see, from the horrific and devastating explanation above, this Go Fund Me is
necessary as Cody and Jordan reside in Rocky
Mountain House. Cody works full time to
provide for their family, and Jordan is on
Maternity leave with Brailey.

Cody is going to have to miss work to commute back and forth from Rocky Mountain House to
Calgary (approximately 2 hours one way) to be
there for Jordan. He may be required to pay
substantial hotel accommodation fees if he’s
required to stay the night. This along with now
finding child care for their 4 month old, gas
expenses for exponential monetary amounts, and the stress of how he is mentally going to be able to work after the shock of witnessing the women he loves and mother of his child almost lose her
leg.

We are asking from the bottom of our hearts that if you are at all able to help with any monetary
amount to please help. We are not at all aware
of how severe this injury will eventually heal, or
how long she will be left in the hospital or when
she will walk again. There will be months of
rehabilitation and Physio therapy to learn to use her leg again.

If you are unable to help financially, we please
ask for you to share on your social media
accounts.

Never take one day for granted - your life could
change within a second. We are so grateful that Jordan is still with us today, because this could
have had a much worse outcome
