Keep Bakken Oil Rush Ministry Alive

The hope for a better life and financial security brought many families to the Bakken during the height of the oil boom. Many of these families knew very little about North Dakota, its climate, the lack of social service resources, and the cost of living. Some families came to Watford City with no resources, using whatever money they had for the gas needed to make the journey. Single men, women, and young families lived in campers, even through the harsh North Dakota winters. And what most of these people weren’t expecting was to find themselves in desperate times and in dire need.
The Bakken Oil Rush Ministry in Watford City is and has been serving a population in desperation. Jim and Kathie Konsor’s heart is to remain in Watford City and continue to meet the needs of the people for years to come. But they are in need themselves. In order to continue serving hundreds upon hundreds of individuals, families, and children, they need your support. They need the financial backing to maintain the daily operation of their ministry. Funding has finally run out and they are in need of a miracle.
To show that the need in Watford City is still ongoing, some numbers from this past fall until year-end 2015 include: Coats given out – 692, hoodies – 263, caps – 317,m gloves – 165, snow boots – 135 pairs, blankets – 200-plus, and many other items that families, children, and numerous individuals need to keep warm and stay in the Bakken.
The Konsors have tried to make the GoFundMe site simpler to navigate through. They’ve added a link to a six-minute video about their work in the Bakken. And they’ve taken the time and effort to explain their ministry and their needs. It’s simple really. They need a miracle. But miracles are possible! Let’s keep the Konsors and their ministry – The Bakken Oil Rush Ministry – here for years to come! Let’s show them our love and support!
