The Ott Family

A dear friend, J. Ott lost his life early this morning (May 7) in a fatal car accident. His wife, and three children (two little girls ages 9 and 5 and a baby boy age 1) are safe, but devastated. This GoFundMe was started to help with funeral expenses for which this precious family was not at all prepared. Lacking his income now and having no life insurance, much is needed to help her get on her feet, the children's day care and school expenses, and transportation. Any amount, however small, is appreciated. Update (May 8): The goal I originally chose was a random number, one that seemed nearly impossible to meet. I am grateful on behalf of the family and humbled that it was met in 36 hours, thanks to so many generous people. Last night with the family, I learned that J. habitually gave things away to, or invested time in, those who were in need. When he met a homeless person, he gave them his own tent because they needed it. He gave a friend's son his car. He was keenly aware of his own shortcomings and struggles, but turned to the Lord with them in such humility that all who knew him were strengthened in their own faith. When he prayed aloud for us, his friends who loved him dearly, it always left us peaceful and humbled. Thank you all. I am raising the goal, because the need is so great at present.
