WCCNY 2022 Leadership Program

Workers know what workers need. The most powerful voices organizing for better working conditions and worker protections are workers. But low-wage workers often face many barriers to participating in organizing, including long shifts, non-traditional hours, childcare responsibilities, lack of transportation and lack of technology. We're launching a new leadership development program that will provide a monthly stipend of $100 to participants to reduce these barriers to participation and value the extra effort it takes to make an ongoing commitment.

Participants will be chosen from among active WCCNY members who are willing to make either a 6 or 12 month commitment to participating in the Fund Excluded Workers Campaign or our Farm Worker Organizing Campaign. WCCNY will provide training, resources and support focused on campaign development and key skills such telling your story and how to talk to co-workers. We hope you can help us support worker leaders!

A donation of $25 will help us purchase a gas card for one participant to offset transportation costs.

A donation of $50 will childcare costs for one 3-hour in person training.

A donation of $100 will cover one month's stipend for 1 participant.

A donation of $600 will fully cover the stipend for 1 participant for a 6 month program.
