We Are Building A School In Uganda
Donation protected
Bukimbiri Modern Schools located in the Kisoro District of Southwestern Uganda seeks funds to expand and improve the offerings of three schools under its’ jurisdiction.
These schools are registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports of Uganda under registration number PSS/N174. Out motto is “Knowledge and skills for Life” and our mission is to provide holistic education to our students and the community at large.
Our three schools are:
1. Bukimbri Modern Nursery School was opened in 2015 with 20 students and now educates 45 children. This school operates under license KDLG/CR/301/ECD/037.
2. Bukimbiri Modern Primary School opened in January 2015 with 18 students and now serves 63 students. This school operates under license ME/P/9713 issued by the Uganda Department of Primary Education and Sports.
3. Nyanamo Vocational Secondary School opened in 2004 and has operated under a public/private partnership with the government of Uganda. We assumed responsibility for this school in 2018 and have remobilized it and re-opened it in 2018 with the original 49 students and now serve 90 students.
The education needs in Uganda are critical. The Government has programs that are underfunded because the economy is weak. We seek to supplement our minimal governmental support with efforts to obtain support from non-governmental sources, individuals, and other sources of financial support.
The help we need would address the upgrading of school facilities that are not ideal in harsh weather conditions and increase the pay of our teachers. Presently we are obliged to pay them from tuition payments from the parents of our students. These same parents are poor and often cannot pay. We seek to educate the children, purchase uniforms and school supplies, and pay our teachers without being an additional financial burden to the parents of our students who daily struggle to survive financially.
We also need to fence our schools to keep intruders at bay. The protection of our students and school properties is a critical need. We also need facilities to collect clean water for our students. Right now we depend on rainwater that is not totally clean and even this we can‘t collect because we lack the receptacles to collect and store it.
Our future goals include having a van to transport our students safely and to gradually improve offerings by becoming a boarding school where during the academic year students will have safe, clean lodging, nutritious food and live in an environment of learning. Some students now travel a great distance to school and are often absent because of logistical issues.
Our future plans to expand and improve our schools are developing as we learn every day to appreciate the needs and potential of our students. They are the hope of our country and deserve a bright future. While they are young and by our side and receive knowledge without filters or bias, we want to help them reach every milestone all children deserve. Please help us.
Our total fundraising goal will be close to USD1, 000,000.00. We have organized our needs in sequential goal stages. The first is $20,000.00 to complete construction of a building to house our classrooms. Construction has begun and funds are needed to complete it, hire teachers, pay for school supplies, fresh water and other vital needs.
Please help us produce future leaders, doctors, scientists and good citizens by providing the place an opportunity to motivate and inspire young minds of today to achieve future greatness.
