We are their strength; widow and 3 young kids

A mother in our community, Cathy Baiunco lost her husband Greg suddenly this past weekend, on the eve of Father’s Day, leaving her to raise her three young boys alone.

On the morning of June 17th, Cathy’s husband participated in a marathon as part of his Ironman Training. He called Cathy after the race to share his joy, and was looking forward to getting home to his family, to spend the afternoon with his three young sons. Unfortunately, due to cardiac arrest, Cathy’s husband Greg never made it home.

Gregory age Nine, Christian age Five, and Nicholas age One had been anxiously awaiting their father’s arrival, but were instead met with the pain three young children should never have to endure. These three young boys will never get to see their father walk through the door again, their handmade Father’s Day gifts will sit untouched, and they will never be able to say goodbye.

Since the birth of their first son in 2014, Cathy has been a stay at home mother dedicated to caring for her family. As she learns to navigate life without any financial support or stability, she will need a great deal of assistance to keep herself and her boys afloat during this time of devastating loss.

While mourning the loss of her husband and watching her boys mourn the loss of their father, Cathy will have to find an immediate way to pay for the day to day costs of living, as well as health insurance, doctor’s bills, and her husband’s funeral expenses.
