UPDATE:1/26/22
Paula wanted us to give you an update on Rocco. He is doing so much better! All of your support, positive vibes and prayers are working.  He has been moved to NYU Hassenfeld Children's Hospital.  He is Covid free, breathing without oxygen and has completed his first round of Chemo.  He is responding very well to his treatments.  He may even be home for the Superbowl!! Bracelets have just arrived and we will be reaching out to everyone as soon as possible.  They are being sold at all three high schools in Wayne; Wayne Valley, Wayne Hills and Depaul.
Paula, Anthony and Rocco want to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts.

As most of you may have heard Rocco Sivolella has been diagnosed with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia. To say our hearts are broken would be an understatement. Our family’s world has been turned upside down and his parents, Paula and Anthony are living every parent's worse nightmare.

 

On January 12th, 2022 Rocco’s life came to an abrupt halt. He tested positive for Covid but as symptoms worsened it seemed to be something more, he was sent to the hospital for more testing . After extensive tests and bloodwork Rocco was then diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This was a complete shock considering he never displayed or experienced any symptoms.

 

Rocco, a 14 year old freshman at Wayne Valley High School is a son, big brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, boyfriend and teammate. He needs our love, support, and prayers while he is battling this cancer. He is in PICU fighting for his life and has already begun going through extensive chemotherapy sessions at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson N.J.

 

The last thing Rocco’s parents need to worry about are medical expenses and financials. Please consider donating to help ease any medical and financial burdens that may come their way.
