Help us build a studio in Blackburn town centre
Donation protected
Hey. Imogen & James here from Esche Haus Recording Studio, Blackburn.
We can’t go into too much detail as to why right now, as we are now facing a long road of scary legal stuff and don't know what we are and aren't allowed to post depending on what happens next, but for now we have had to pack up our studio equipment and are working on finding a new space to continue what we started as a studio. We aim to keep our recording studio in the town centre.
Our dream has always been to have a creative hub whereby artists from all walks of life can be themselves and create in a safe environment. We wanted our studio to be a sanctuary for those struggling with their mental health, and a place where people could come and not just record music, but have guideance and advice to help them navigate multiple aspects of the music industry.
Unfortunately, through no fault of our own, we have had to pack up our equipment and leave our space that we have worked from and nurtured artists from since 2018. We are doing what we can now to pick up the pieces and start again, but a recording studio is such a niche business. We make music, but we need quiet, so we are so limited as to where we can set up a new studio. Anywhere we do set up needs substancial sound proofing and adaptations and this is a very costly process. But we think we have a solution...
We have been asked by friends and family how we can be helped, so as we get back on our feet, we wanted to provide this platform for anyone wishing to pay in advance for a session. This way, with your help, we can hopefully get back up and running sooner, and also have some sessions booked in as soon as we're open again which gives us all something to look forward to. We have reduced our day rate by 50% from £300 to £150 as an incentive to get some bookings in, so any 'donations' over £150 will actually be equivalent to a full day in the studio. Donations over £300 will be 2 studio dates and so on and so forth. Once we are open again in a new studio, i'll be in touch to arrange a date/dates with you.
We promise we will come back stronger from this, with an even better studio. We will post updates as and when we find a new space and as we begin to turn it into a studio, but for now we just want to say thank you to everyone who has trusted us with your projects over the past few years at our beautiful recording studio in Blackburn. From creating little ditties for tiktok to having mixes played on bbc radio 1, ITV and beyond, from developing artists who’ve never released a track to watching them perform at multiple stages at Glastonbury, we’re beyond proud to have worked with you all and hope we see you again soon.
