I have never done a Go Fund me before, but I find the need now to seek support for a dear friend. Cecilia McKeown has been a family practitioner in the Houston area for the past 30 years. She has devoted her life to friends, family and patients. Cecilia and I first met in Galveston during our residency programs. I was OB/GYN and she of course Family Medicine. We have been dear friends since. She called me on 3/28/2023 as she needed some encouragement. We had not spoken for some time. She informed me she went into the hospital 5/2022 for reflux surgery. She was released 1/2023. I was shocked. She said she was in a coma for 4 weeks. After the ordeal of the incident, she found herself with amputations of both hands and feet. Once again, shocked and hurt. She is no longer able to work, living on her savings. I am calling on my friends and those who love God to show our love for Dr. McKeown as she navigates her new life.
