We Love you Coach Ray!!

On August 24th, 2024, our friend, brother and father, Raymond Butler, suffered a massive brain hemorrhage. He has been in the ICU since then. He suffered another hemorrhagic event a few days after the initial one and that has caused even more damage. If anyone has ever had the chance to interact with Ray, you will immediately know how selfless he is. He will stop everything he is doing to make sure he can help. For countless years, he worked tirelessly to keep the kids and staff safe at Bullis School as part of the security team but it is his love for the kids that makes him shine as a coach and mentor for those very same kids.

Ray treats the kids as his very own. He’s there not just for coaching, but for family, for triumphs, for milestones, for disappointments, for crisis, for ANYTHING!! It didn’t matter what time you call on him. He would always make himself available. He has become part of so many families over the years, including mine. Today, I’ve created this page for us to come together as a community to support him and his family. Since Ray had no health benefits, Ray will have an insurmountable pile of medical bills to pay for. Please let’s all come together strong and support Ray as he’s done for us over and over and countless times over the years. He is our family and family supports family.
