We need help to rebuild our home

House update 2023: almost two years later we have 70 % of our four bedroom house fixed. we currently have six rooms (two bedrooms , living, hallway, mud room) left to fix and the ac/ duck work.

Holidays should be a time for cheers and family celebration. It’s also times when accidents happens, you never think it would happen to you until it does.

 

On December 22nd 2021 my family and I became homeless caused by house fire. It started as a normal day, my fiancé Avery (28male) went to work while I (29 female ) stayed home with our toddler ( 1 female). My toddler wakes up around 9am and off I go to start my day. Between breakfast and two episodes of bluey and one episode of Micky, it’s seem to be just another day. I wanted to check up on my daughter (9 female) who is visiting her father in Massachusetts for the Holidays so I spent what seems to be 20 minutes listening to all her exciting adventures. Next thing I know it’s bath time then nap time (11:30) for little miss toddler. By 12:22 Avery calls and tells me, he’ll be home by one which is earlier then usual. Avery explains this shop was closing early for the Holidays. What exciting news, we planned to for a Costco run once he was home. By 1:30 our toddler has been up for 45 minutes when she rans to the door to greet her daddy. Avery started get our toddler ready while I put the leftover pizza in the oven for us. After eating we got ready and started to walk out the door. I looked around to see if I missed anything. Before closing the door I asked Avery as he walk to the car should I bring in our dog Loki who was outside sunbathing inside to be with the other two (William and Keda). Avery said “no, he’ll be fine since we’ll only be gone less then an hour” so we leave to Costco. Within the 25 minutes our cameras inside our home started to go off like crazy. Avery check the cameras after getting into the car just to see smoke and hear the smoke alarms going off. I quickly start driving towards our house while Avery is on the phone with 911. I made all the way to the red light in front of our neighborhood when I see three cop cars beside all the traffic behind me coming up fast. The moment all three cruisers passed me I pulled behind them and drove straight to the house, yelling out my window “ we had two dog in the house, please get them out “ as I pulled up the driveway. I watched four firefighters bring our both of my lifeless dogs, desperately trying to bring them back to life. Sadly we lost them both. After The fire department gets the fire out. They tell us that the fire seemed to start in the kitchen that when I knew the empty pizza box was left on the stove when William was able to reach it.After going into our damage home, We saw the burnt pizza box and the stove accidentally turned on in what was the reminder of the kitchen. By the looks of it the kitchen was completely destroyed and parts of the living room while the rest of the house only sustained smoke damage. If you can find it in your heart to please donate to help us rebuild our home, unfortunately we do not have home owner insurance ( currently dealing with a lawsuit for a new roof for the pass nine months)
