We need your help as we rebuild My Sister's Place

My name is Joyce Cody. I have had the honor of being the Executive Director of My Sister's Place of Madison, Inc. for almost twenty-two years. My Sister's Place has been in operation since 1987. My Sister's Place serves Madison and Yancey Counties. My Sister's Place serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. We operate the only safehouse serving Madison and Yancey Counties. In addition, we operate the only 24-hour crisis line. We offer a large array of services including assistance with protective orders, support groups, crisis/options counseling, court advocacy, hospital accompaniment, referrals, community outreach and education, parenting classes, professional trainings, and transportation.
Hurricane Helene destroyed downtown, where My Sister's Place is located. My Sister's Attic and our handicap office were located there. The water completely destroyed the downstairs and damaged the roof upstairs. My Sister's Place provides critical life-saving services each year to 1,500 women, children, men, and their families. We have had an overwhelming amount of boots-on-the-ground help, support, and outpouring of love since Hurricane Helene came by and changed our lives forever. We desperately need financial assistance as we try to pick up the pieces and restart. We need funds to start to rebuild and temporarily move our offices and thrift shop. Although My Sister's Place Safehouse did not receive damage, My Sister's Attic provided 60% funding for our safehouse. We appreciate any amount that you might be able to give. In the non-profit world, we really understand that there is never an amount that is too small. Thank you for considering a donation, and we look forward to seeing you as we rebuild and come back stronger than before❤️
