Una CASA per i bambini di Tabasamu, Tanzania

The story of TABASAMU (which means "smile" in Swahili) began in 2015 in Nkoaranga, northern Tanzania, founded by David Joseph with the mission of providing shelter and hope to orphaned and vulnerable children.

The most significant challenge came with the COVID-19 crisis, which halted volunteer support and led to the loss of the home David had rented for the children in 2020. Since then, the children have been living in a small space within David’s family home. Despite these struggles, David's dream to build a dedicated orphanage remains strong, offering the children a stable and loving place to call home.

As a result, we decided to launch a fundraising campaign to build a new, permanent home where the children could truly feel at home.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve made amazing progress! The house is nearly complete—walls are up, floors are laid, and the roof is finished. We are now working on installing the windows and doors. The next steps will be to complete the electrical and water systems, furnish the home, and prepare it to welcome the children.
