We Need Your Help To Get Julia Murray ‘Home’

*Julia was hospitalized on September 8th and was on a ventilator for a number of days. However she is doing better and we are praying for her steady recovery.

Julia Murray, the widow of Trans-Civil rights icon, STARR founder Sylvia Rivera needs our help. She is currently homeless in Eugene Oregon and is struggling. We are trying to raise funds for airfare, as well as to help set her up with housing in Upstate NY.

For over a decade the ‘movement’ has forgotten her, leaving alone to process the loss of Sylvia, and many other Trans loved ones.

Funds raised will be used to address and provide for her needs at the moment, as well as airfare and the cost of setting Julia up with housing in upstate NY.

Julia’s chosen family, community and fondest memories are back in NY and she is ready to come home.

Dean Murray, Julia’s bio brother, who lives in Oregon a few hours away from Julia, has endorsed her plans to move, as well as this fundraiser.

Julia has struggled with Street homelessness and health issues, and has been the target of violence and injustice by local Oregon authorities. Her life right now is unsustainable and Julia wants, needs and deserves (!) to be welcome back in New York with open arms.

Raising these funds for someone who stood on the frontlines decades before many of us were born, is the least we can do!
