Update: we spoke with the landlords on Friday and it sounds like we will be getting back our inventory, we just don’t have a timeline for it yet. We are closing the gofundme as we will be set from this. Thank you.

No Sleep has been my passion for the last 16 years. In that time I’ve experienced ups and downs, but through hard work, vision, and passion, I’ve been able to continue to do what I love, and support artists I whole heartedly believe in. One of the most rewarding aspects of what I do is to bring people together to listen to good music. No Sleep is a part of me, and you all have become family.

As I’m sure you are aware a number of years ago I transitioned from in house fulfillment to an outside fulfillment center. For the last 3 years we’ve been with Awesome Merch.

It hasn’t been an easy road. From unfulfilled orders, to lack of customer service, merch orders not being satisfied in a timely manner, lack of communication, the list goes on…

I made the difficult and long thought out decision to end our terms with Awesome Merch on August 23, 2022. My goal in ending this relationship was to gain back control and rectify countless issues we had experienced. I am aware that customers ultimately have been unhappy with their experience ordering from us since I made the decision to outsource fulfillment. I want to change that.

On August 24th, we came to an agreement, and I was informed that they will place a hold on all pending orders (mind you, nothing had been shipped out since mid July), that they would confirm final payment for amounts owed to No Sleep, and asked for an address for our inventory to be sent to.

I sent an email, checking the status of things on August 29th, to which I got a response on August 30th stating the our inventory would be ready to be retrieved on September 10th.

After much back and forth and confusion regarding payment owed to us, I was informed on September 2nd, that the date our inventory would now be ready will be September 12th or 13th.

September 8th rolls around, and I decided to check in, since I hadn’t been updated in a week. I received a quick response from Awesome Merch informing me that they were still working to wrap everything up.

What transpired after this was something unimaginable, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.

That same day I received a text from my good friends at Topshelf Records reading “I assume you heard about Awesome, yeah?”.

I was completely dumbfounded to hear that they were going out of business. I had not received any kind of notice, or communication regarding this. Panic set in as I found out more details about people being left high and dry.

On September 10th, as I was making preparations to receive inventory, I learned that Awesome Merch had been locked out of their commercial space, and that the landlord has taken possession of everything inside.

Every piece of inventory No Sleep has is in that warehouse. From apparel, records, CD’s, even test presses. My heart sank. I’m in shock. I’m devastated.

I immediately got in touch with my lawyer, and am in the process of seeing what we can do to rectify this nightmare situation and to see if we can recover from these damages. As of now I have no real answer on if we will get our inventory back, what will have to be done to try and rectify the situation or what the outcome will be.

This is a big loss for No Sleep. After an already tough couple of years due to COVID-19.

With that said, No Sleep Records is not going down without a fight. I will do everything in my power to continue to bring you the music you love, and support the artist you love. This is not the end of No Sleep Records.
