We, Not Me Nepal School Uniform Program 2024

Donation protected

This young Nepalese boy’s life has been changed forever! …. that’s why he has this ear to ear smile. In early March I will be returning to Pokhara, and with covid having waned, kids are back in school.....with the help of my friends in the U.S., I hope to restart the program for the kids of Nepal.

This is the 6th year since the We, Not Me School Uniform Program was established…. And it all began primarily because of the generosity of my friends here in the U.S. In that time we have changed the lives of over 1,000 kids in Pokhara.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like a big program, and it isn't.... but it sure is for those receiving their first uniform. There is an actual beautiful face behind each kid that receives his/her first uniform. And 1,000+ kids have had their life changed forever. In Nepal, no child can attend school without a uniform, and even tho a uniform (shirt, pants/skirt, & even shoes) costs 'only' $25, for many it is sadly out of reach.

There is one special school to me, the Fewa Primary School, where the kids are desperately in need of uniforms, and I plan to visit this school and give them some great news about how we here have raised money for them (& many more schools hopefully) so they will have a uniform and can attend school.

Often, we have also been able to use some of the money to provide one meal a day (lunch) for the kids at one of the 8 - 10 schools we sponsor… sadly, that one meal can double or triple attendance… parents often send their child to school knowing that one meal is the only meal that kid will have that day. And we have been able to provide stationary and warm clothing also….

Bottom line….We, you and I, are changing lives in our small way… yeah, it is not changing millions of lives, but that really doesn’t matter….. We each can advance the ball forward in the smallest of ways…. hopefully more small grassroots similar thinking people will join in in any way or cause that moves them.... whatever, wherever and however.

I love the adorable kids of Pokhara, Nepal... playful, joyful and kind, despite their hardships. Please help and open your heart as much or little as you can... and even if you can't, please share this on your Facebook page or Twitter... let's all feel the power of 'We, Not Me'
