NEXT MONDAY, June 1st, is CANCER TUMOR REMOVAL DAY! I am trying to be positive. The truth I am desperate to find some way to help Trent, so he doesn't have to face this health and financial crisis of overwhelming medical bills, etc. alone, while he is supposed to try and heal.
Trent Lowe is a young man in his late 30s who was just beginning his dream of having his own small business after having worked since his teens, over 2 decades, to achieve it. All that was brutally ripped away when he was diagnosed with liver cancer.
Fresh off his cancer treatments, he was in for an MRI of his liver to make sure things were still going okay. It's that moment when you hear the words you never want to hear again. We found another tumor. This time it was in his back. The source of the severe back pain he had been suffering. But COVID-19 hit so the surgery was put off. It’s always the first step to let the body’s immune system try to build itself back up after the harsh cancer drugs.
Imagine not only being quarantined and caring for your mother, but your existence is one where you go from never knowing if you’ll be able to have enough strength to get out of bed, or if the pain will be so intense and making your stomach issues so convulsive that once again it’s back to the hospital, weak, dehydrated and unable to function. The ups and downs are like being trapped on a sinister Tunnel of Horrors Ride of Terror with no one in control, least of all you. There is no way to get off and no way to wake up from the ongoing hellish nightmare that has become your life.
You go in for another MRI and this time things are much worse than you thought. The tumor is still there, but they find that something, has eaten away the vertebrae bone in part of your spine. So, you have NO CHOICE but to get urgent surgery while your immune system is compromised even with COVID-19. This make your risk exponentially higher of it being lethal if you were to catch the virus.
Monday's procedure will be removing the tumor from the spine, hopefully they get the rest of that out and then can fix his back by removing the area where the vertebrae has been eaten away, and replacing it with cadaver bone in hopes of having it begin to grow. Then you pray that it isn't rejected by your weak immune system. Your back will be put back together with metal rods, plates, pins/screws.
Our hope is that Trent will wake up to a new reality of a prosthetic back brace with a bone growth adapter that will help him heal. While the pain will be excruciating, at least there that would mean there is no paralysis from the surgery. We also pray that the loss of mobility will be the least possible.
Trent never wants to be a burden and has kept this secret while continuing to encourage fellow patriots and promote #TRUMP2020 daily. He's never asked anyone for help, but he desperately needs your prayers and financial support to get back on his feet. The medical bills and daily are piling on. His ongoing treatment is going to continue to grow on top of his monumental financial losses he’s already experienced and mountains of medical bills. Then there’s the extensive person care as he learns to walk again and requiring ongoing person care assistance. Again, this is why I couldn't just let this one go. He has helped so many, the least we can do is let him know we are here for him in his hour of need.
