We Stand mural - National Debut

"We Stand" mural will join other Indigenous delegations on the National Mall, Monday, November 20th through Friday, November 25th-November 2022 NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH - Washington DC.---“We Stand” is a 6' x 48' mural, depicting Water Protectors from across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan standing in unity with diverse allies protecting water. This exhibition piece captures iconic Indigenous leaders in the movement against the expansion of fossil fuels and other extractive infrastructure that is currently ravaging across sacred Indigenous ancestral homelands...With support, We Stand"mural will be exhibited Monday, November 21st through Friday, November 25th on the National Mall during the month-long Native American Heritage events. Indigenous delegations are arriving at the National Mall this November. “We Stand”, is a delegation on it's own. It was created with an ensemble of 80+ local and traveling artists. We all believe the "We Stand" mural deserves a national debut. Art can only fulfill its goal if shared and given away with humility. The "We Stand" mural comes forward as an example of grassroots community capacity building. Debut of the "We Stand" mural at the National Mall is a vital opportunity to put forth a unified Indigenous-led response that addresses the Global Climate Emergency by sending a clear message to national leadership demanding decisive action.
